In Gmail, there are two methods that you can use to rename links. The first option is to utilize the built-in hyperlink feature, which allows you to enter your link and the text that you would like it to appear as within the email.
Alternatively, you can use a quick typing trick that involves typing out your custom text within the link and erasing the original link text around it.

In this article, we will guide you through both methods, providing step-by-step instructions on how to rename links in Gmail’s web and mobile apps.
Method 1: Renaming a Link Using the Hyperlink Feature
Please note that this method is only available in the desktop version of Gmail.
1 – Navigate to your Gmail inbox.
2 – Click on the ‘Compose’ button to start a new email.
3 – Provide a subject for your email and enter the recipient’s email address in the ‘To’ field.
4 – Compose the email in the text area and include the text you wish to use for renaming the link.
5 – Highlight the specific text that you want to use as the link text.
6 – At the bottom of the compose window, locate and click on the ‘Insert link’ button.
7 – In the provided web address field, enter the link that should be attached to the selected text.
8 – Click ‘OK’ to confirm the changes, and then send your email.
Method 2: Renaming a Link on the Gmail App
This method can be used both in the Gmail app and on a web browser.
1 – Open the Gmail app on your mobile device.
2 – Tap the compose button to start a new email.
3 – Enter a subject and the recipient’s email address in the ‘To’ field.
4 – In the text area, paste the link you want to rename.
5 – Tap the ‘X’ icon at the top of the compose box to close the draft.
6 – Navigate to the ‘Drafts’ label.
7 – Open the draft that you just closed; the link should now appear blue and underlined.
8 – Position your cursor just before the last character of the link.
9 – Type out the text you want to use as the replacement link. Ensure that the text you’re typing is blue and underlined. If it’s not, you haven’t positioned the cursor correctly.
10 – Move your cursor behind the first letter of your custom link text.
11 – Erase the original link text.
12 – Send your email once you have finished making the desired changes.
